Pontoon

Pontoon is practically the same as a regular blackjack game (although harder to find in an online casino portal and online poker in english, but has some differences in the rules. Pontoon is played with eight regular 52-card decks. The cards have the same value as in blackjack. And just like blackjack, you are bust when you have more than 21 points. The highest hand possible is pontoon, which is an ace and any card with a value of 10. The next highest hand, is any hand that consists out of 5 cards. This is very difficult to get, because most hands with 5 cards are easily busted. The other highest hands are ranked on their total point value. The highest value up to 21 wins.
Every round starts with the dealer dealing each player two cards face up, and himself two cards face down. This is the first difference from blackjack ( aside from the fact it is very difficult to locate in an online kasino), where the dealer has one card face up. The dealer then takes a look at his cards, to check if he has a pontoon. If the dealer has pontoon then he reveals his cards and collects all wagers. The dealer always wins if he has pontoon. Then the round is over and the next round will begin. The round continues when the dealer does not have pontoon. Every player must decide whether he hits a card or stands. A player can stand on any hand that has a value of 15 or higher, or on a five-card hand.
Splitting is allowed for cards of of equal rank. So when you get two tens, you can split it into two hands. When a player gets 21 points with a two-card hand after splitting aces it is considered to be a pontoon. Once all players have chosen to stand or are busted, the dealer shows his hand, and can draw cards to try and defeat the other players. The dealer has to keep drawing cards until he either passes 17, has a five-card hand, or gets a soft 17 (a 17 that consists of an ace and a six).
